Kid-Friendly Snacks for July 4th

Happy (Almost) Independence Day!
I blinked on January 1st and now it’s almost the 4th of July! July 2nd marks the midpoint of 2019 and I can’t believe how fast this year is flying by. I’m sure you are busy chasing your children around from practice to bible school to swim lessons this summer, so who has time to prepare themed snacks for the 4th of July festivities?! Not I, and I’m guessing not you. To help save us both, I’ve rounded up the easiest, most delicious, festive, kid-friendly snacks that you can whip up in a hurry for whatever your Independence Day plans may be!
Star Spangled Snack Mix
You need:
16 oz package Cherry Twizzler Bites
2 cups mini marshmallows
2 cups mini pretzel twists
1 cup blue or red M&M’s
You will:
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and toss to mix them well. Display your creation in a festive bowl and bring it to your 4th of July party!

Red, White and Blue Greek Yogurt Berry Bark
You need:
5 cups of plain Greek yogurt
1.5 cups of Honey
2 tablespoons of Vanilla Extract
2 cups of whole blueberries
2 cups of sliced strawberries
Mini chocolate chips
You will:
Mix the Greek yogurt, honey and vanilla extract in a large bowl until it is evenly combined. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly across the sheet. Make sure it is thick so that the weight of the berries don’t cause cracking in later steps. Slice the strawberries and spread them across the pan. Sprinkle the blueberries and chocolate chips across the pan. Drizzle honey over the top. Place entire sheet in the freezer and leave overnight. The next day, carefully break into pieces. Serve cold and enjoy!

Patriotic Pretzels
You need:
Stick pretzels
White, blue and red candy melts
Star sprinkles
You will:
Melt the white candy and then dip the pretzels in 3/4 of the way down. Once that dries, dip the rod into the blue candy about 1/3 of the way down. Shake the star sprinkles onto the blue part while the candy is still wet. Melt the red candy and put it into a ziploc bag. Cut the corn and use it to squeeze the red candy onto the rod to make the stripes. Let them dry and then display them in a mason jar until they are ready to serve!
